Caltech Dining Services (CDS) is happy to announce a new dining plan for students on the Board Program. Starting Fall 2019, students will have two options between the Anytime Plan or our new Flex Plan. All new & returning Caltech students will automatically be enrolled in the Anytime Plan.
The Anytime Plan: The Anytime Plan consists of weekday dinner and weekend brunch service ("Contract Meals"), weekday breakfast and snack foods ("Open Kitchen"), and all special dinners. The Anytime Plan includes the purchase of all food items at Broad Cafe, Chandler Cafe, Red Door Marketplace, Student Coffee House, and South Kitchen. This plan excludes retail items. See the Board Terms and Conditions for more information. The Flex Plan: The Flex Plan provides five, waited dinner meals per week in the house, weekday Open Kitchen, a declining balance to spend freely on breakfast, lunch and snacks, and all special dinners. The new Flex Plan incorporates a few new changes. The first change is that the Flex Plan will be a less expensive alternative to the old Feynman Plan. Second, although you will be able to purchase retail food items using your student account, you will no longer be able to purchase non-food items such as batteries and toiletries. These items will get charged to your student’s Bursar’s Account. Lastly, students on the Flex Plan will be able to dine Monday through Friday at our Open Kitchen, excluding Institute Holidays, but weekend Open Kitchen will not be included. You can spend your board funds at any of the CDS locations (excluding vending machines).
A student may convert to the new Flex Plan by notifying CDS in writing using the form below.
Our goal at CDS is to provide students with exceptional food & service and to offer a Board Program that fits each lifestyle and financial situation. If you have any questions about our meal plans, please contacts us at email@example.com. We look forward to feeding you in the upcoming academic year!
